Introduction

Department of Political Science established in our college on June 1986, as college open. The Political Science department is working under the social science faculty. This department makes Annual plan as per University norms and implements it strictly. In our department students take admission as per university rules.

Osmanabad District in Maharashtra is considered as India’s 3rd backward District and Paranda Tahsil belongs to the same District. Students coming to our college are from rural area and economically backward area, that’s why we try to guide them in the field of professional skills to fulfill their daily needs. We organize various extracurricular activities to enhance their knowledge. For this we conduct the tours to visit Gram Panchayat Shirala, Paranda Fort, etc.

To offer update knowledge, the department conducts various programs such as group discussion, seminars, Test management also motivates the teachers to enhance their research knowledge especially for participation in state, national, and international seminars and conferences.

Faculty of our department Asst. Prof. Dr.V.R. Jadhav. awarded Ph. D. from R.S.T. University Nagpur in 2013.

SCOPE OF THE POLITICAL SCIENCE

3. Corporate sector job title such as media, analysts, political analyst, Political research analyst etc.

9. Teaching – one can appear for NET / SET exam to qualify for working as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in college/ University.
10. Research: one can opt. for fellowship programs offered by Electronic media, Press media and Management institutes.
IMPORTANCE OF THE SUBJECT

The importance of political science lies in the fact that all of us live within political systems and we are affected by the changes in the global political economy. With the advent of globalization, there has been a concomitant rise in the interest taken by the people of the world in understanding the political systems of other countries. Hence, political scientists become valued and important as they provide the lens through which we can understand the global political economy. There are many universities that provide graduate and higher-level degrees in political science and in recent years, because of the renewed interest in political science as a field of study, there are many takers for these courses.

4. Acquire a specialized knowledge and Understanding of politics, Government, Constitution, Public policy through a coherent programme of study.

INTRODUCTION OF DEPARTMENT:

S.G.R.G Shinde College was established in 1987. The Political Science Dept. was also established at the same time and started catering education to first year students. The first graduation batch came out in 1990. The department has always remained in touch with the students of the two streams i.e. Arts.
